just in case ya'll was capable of such feats, speed on demand is running an episode of "test drive" with the 2007 wrangler unlimited rubicon. thay tested it on the way to and on the rubicon trail.

speed on demand?

need more info

For those of you who have "OnDemand" on your cable system!
Therein you can select various programs to watch whenever you want.

Translation -- Go to OnDemand (normally channel 1 on your cable channels); click on Speed Channel; you'll find it there (although I haven't done it yet, but will!)

Thanks,

I am already sold on it. Trying to sell my YJ and Truck to go get one.

OK, but please check out the rear shock mounts!!!
They are lower than the bottom of trhe rear differential (check picture links below)!
Other than that, I'm happy enough with the new 07, now if I could just figure out the top and door options!

OK, hopefully your pictures will uplaod - mine won't regardless of whether I upload them fdrom my computer or from my website!

lol they'll have to replace the aftermarket gas tank skid plates with muffler skid plates

We get that channel but on demand isn't working... Comcast bought out Adelphia and the transfer is full of kinks :(

I wouldn't even go with the new wranglers...-.- They are ugly and all new looking. Whats the point of spending 16,000 plus on something like that? Its gonna get dents, scratches, chunks torn off, things ripped off...I'd rather spend that 16,000 on a lift, tires, and some other parts.

You're missing the fact that they're so much closer to the wheels that they aren't gonna get hung up unless you land directly on them. They're in a much better position than any other Jeep before.

Also I like the new BFG's that are on them, looks like they'll hook up good.

Hadn't really looked that close at to where they're at on the 06s, but now that you mention it, I'm going to do a compare!
The fact they are very close to the wheels may be the saving grace!!!

The tires on the 07s are 32 inch.

What rear does the 07 come with?
I'm gonna jump off a bridge if its that stupid d35 again:cry:

Oh wow, a D44, that suprised me.
I was expecting the D35...
Wow, sounds like we are discussing breast sizes! :O

I'm one of those folks who really checks out a new vehicle before purchasing, sometimes takes 6 to 9 months before making my final choice.

I've been checking out the 07s and other than the low hanging rear shock mounts, I'm ready to purchase! However, budget situation prevents that before next spring.

The only other dilemma I've got is soft top versus the hard top group. I know the hard top is better, particularly in the winter, but when you take if off, you have to have a place to store it. And even though the new hard top is a 3-piece, it still takes 2 people to remove it! Dealer says the soft top is better material and thicker than the pre-07s. So I'm kind of waiting to decide this issue.

If you have a garage and you don't have any room to store your hard top you can do what I did. I bought a hard top winch removal kit, cut out my ceiling joist and boxed and strengthened them where needed, now my hard top hangs up by the roof line out of the way and I can remove It all by myself!

Currently I do not have a garage, although my friend with the 04 does and could probably use his for the storage. Problem is he is all the way across town - approximately 10 miles away!

He just used three tie-down hooks to raise and lower his top!

The base (X) model still has the world-renowned D30/D35 combo :)
