I have a question about the horn relay in the turn signal cancel cam

I would say your best bet is try out your other ideas and see if they work. All that spring and deal does is make a connection when you push the horn button to conolete the circuit so as long as your replacement item doesnt ground out somewhere else, you should be good

I took some images of what I have and would like to ask if this looks right?

I found a post on cherokee forums with people having the same issue you do, though. Since its a chevy steering column, they found the same part fits the xj, yj, mj, and also cj, plus many types of chevy vehicles. But ine guy posts he fixed his by drilling out where the silver post goes so it moves properly because he said a spring rides under it.

I have it working I had to adjust the relay a few times but got it working. I still think doing away with those parts and using a piece of conductive metal is a better way. Anyway 84-01 the turn signal cancel cam is part number 4487816 and 4487816K the "K" designation is for tilt wheel. Omix sells them on Amazon but for some reason they do not have the XJ listed as applicable when it is.
