Over Sized Tires

Sparky...

No it won't even be driven within 2mi's of a main road.
I've sort of scrapped the welded tire thing and will probably just hack away at the metal. and adding more spings or hockey pucking it are 2 things i've heard of but didn't consider. good suggestions.
Thanks.

RE: Changing the oil in my tcase

If you did the 2 wheel thing, you'd have to find some tires that are like 30" wide....but still not too tall to hit the fenders. Those would have to be custom made and would be VERY spendy compared to a set of regular tires.

For the exhaust, you could take stock headers and flip them upside down and swap them to the opposite sides. It would be pointing at the windshield....but sounds like that wouldn't really matter.

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Front hitch

Your factory engine, brakes, axles, frame, and suspension are going to be happiest with a narrow 33" tire at the most......and that's stretching it. I'd slap the norrowest 32s I could find on the factory rims and be done. You don't need much lift for that. Your Jeep has the "C" type shackles, but you can easily convert to longer standard style shackles for an inch or so of lift. Then you can make a body lift and clear them just fine.

For header ideas, check out the swamp buggy racers. Alot of the classes restrict engines to the F heads or older. Those guys really crank those little engines hard and have lots of good ideas. And yes.....alot of them have the little F-heads header poking right through the hood.

Can I weld oversized rims next to my existing rims and have the new wheels stick off the side?
I dont have the money to get a suspension lift kit or body lift kit,
and I still want oversized tires.
I know the front wheels will not turn(steer) but can it be done?
How much stress will it put on the engine and will the welds hold up to the abuse?
WILL IT WORK?

No.

I not messin with you i dont know if i clarified this but I dont plan on mud bogging or doing extreme off-roading with the jeep just driving it on the weekends on some minor off-road trails just because i can,and now your going to tell me why the hell are you doing this, for what i need it for it doesnt need bigger tires, well your right, but i'm going to do it anyway.

you still haven't answered my question on how you'll find these tires.

No tractor tires or anything are the size that will accomidate what you plan to do here. Please explain this, cause I'm interrested!!!

can't......reply......now.......ROGL.......o..so..hard! Will......reply.....later..... LBR

Steering upgrades on your wrangler

Just make it go back instead of up! Try not to tack it togetherand at least hide it.

RE: Changing the oil in my tcase

Wait I think the rim idea would involve using stock rims as a sort of oversized wheel spacer and then running normal oversized tires on the welded on set of rims, outside the fenders. Is this right? Well, i wouldn't trust the welds enough to not break...and it would prob. wreak havoc on your wheel bearings and maybe break an axle. I vote for 32's w/o the welded rim idea. As for the exhaust, what about just open headers (or in this case manifolds)? I wouldn't be to keen on having the exhuast exit directly infront of my face, even with a windshield in the way...

This has to be a guy from another forum, pulling our chain. If not, please sell your jeep to someone who will treat it like it deserves to be treated and to someone who cares about the safety of others on and off the road. If you are from another forum and trying to get a rise, kudos to you, you managed to create a three page thread.

So let me get this right. You want to weld another set of rims onto the existing ones so you can have bigger tires. Then you want to invert your exhuast system up and out of the hood. Well since your going for that kind of "out-landish" flair why not buy some surplus military tank tracks from WW2 to put around the outter rims, then when you finish that ( and after using a good industrial sized roll of duck tape) you could branch your exhuast pipe into multiple openings. ( that way it just look meaner.) Get a primer colored paint job ... and you'll be set for a whealing / mishap adventure that we should all laugh about for some time to come.

Seriously why do this to a jeep, it never did anything wrong to you.

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: How Many Here Have One Of These.........

Actually the tank track's wouldn't be a bad idea!!!?

Thinking of selling my 360...

I think you should just run the exhaust right inside the jeep straight from the motor. Mabye the fumes will help you come up with another bright idea. You should post any other ideas you have, I need a good laugh.
