ok here goes 4" RC's and only about 1 inch between the springs and the bump stops. isthis right? i have to say after i retightened the springs {actualy loosened them and hit them up with locktite} the spring shacles looked a lil crooked . like they were cocked off to the side a lil. i dont know what to make of it. and sugestions from the jeepz guys are appreciated. thanks

what kind of jeep?

If it's a YJ, the springs shouldn't even be anywhere near the bumpstops. As for CJ's, I don't know.

Don't factory YJs ride about an inch or two off of the stops? Where bumpstop extensions put on with the lift? How long are they?

RE: TJ rear tow hook

i did put the bumpstop extentions. and they are really cllose to the frame stops. i thought it was supposed to be that way but now i am not sure. do you think it is one of those bad batches of springs that rough country had???? if so i will have another set ordered up to replace them .. thanks guys

push rod length...

I have that kit, are you refering the the bumpstops that are right above the springs that are stock? or are you talking about the new bumpstop that you installed on the top of the axel tube? If you are talking about the stock ones, they are fine to leave on there. It seems like they are pretty close to the spring but they will never hit as long as you have the new bumpstop installed.

yeah i put on the new bumpstop extentions. i have about half an inch of clearance between the rubber upper bumpstop on the frame and the new stop on the axle. it doesnt look right to me. let me know if it is ok? thanks

i had this same problem with a couple sets of springs form rough country a few months back.. do a search, you'll find my posts. I will NEVER recommend or sell another set of rough country springs again. In my opinion Rough country kits for yj's and cj's aren't worth the cardboard they come in. They are junk. They gave me the excuse it was a problem in the heat treating process, so they sent me a replacement set of springs. They were scrap too. Do yourself a favor and try to get your money back. Then you can put it too good use on a quality set of springs. I recommend skyjacker for yj's. Good kit, good price.

ohh yeah, by the way the person you want to talk to at Rough country is Mr. Green. Take pics because your gonna need em. On the first set of bad springs i installed they were about 1" from the bump stops. After very mild wheeling they were sitting on the bumpstop.

ok well if i can get my money back i still have one problem, this jeep is my daily driver!!!! i havent even had it off road but once. and that was out in a feild at slow speeds and i only flexed it on a few ramps to loosen up the springs and break them in. i dont have the $ to get new springs if i have to trade them in to get a refund is what i'm saying. and ideas? oh yeah i had to cut the old spings off with smoke wrench . kinda in a bad spot now huh?
