TJ_4.0_Alternator life expectancy???

So I got the Yellow top Battery in the Jeep because my original battery was 6 years old (not bad) and was thinking about the alternator.
Anyone change the alternator in their TJ yet?

My other TJ (4 cylinder) needed a new alternator at around 7years/88K.

When did you change your TJ_4.0 Alternator Years/miles?

I think they generally last twice that long. There is a good bolt-in upgrade to 136A out of a late '90s Dodge full-size truck and van.

Well I'm not running alot of accessories with my current Jeep - whether or not that makes a difference - I don't know..

Mine being a '98 (117a) is still going strong and i have 6 lights and 2 amps (1000w and 444w) and 139k. i havent had any trouble except replacing the wire that goes to the alt. to the fuse box.
