Wrangler Redesign

The following appeared in this weeks Automotive News which I subscribe to:


Wrangler:

The off-road vehicle will be redesigned for the 2007 model. The Wrangler, the only Jeep that is body-on-frame, likely will remain on its own platform.


That's all they had to say about it. Has anyone else heard anything about a redesign? I know 2007 is a while off but I hope they don't try to screw with the design too much.

Yeah I've heard that the redisign will come out in 2007 (which means it will most likely be out in late 2006 as an 07 model) The other rumor is that they want to put the Liberties 3.7 in it :evil:

Trust me.....people will buy that. New Jeeps are very popular with a certain segment of society that likes vehicles in weird colors and they will buy Jeeps in that color.

my local Jeep dealer told me that there is a good chance that they are planning on having independant front suspension

I don't have much confidence in them doing a good job with the redesign. I wasn't a huge fan of some of the plasticy changes they made with the TJ. Then look at the liberty. UGH!

You all probably do not see many US Border Patrol cars, but this past weekend I went hunting to a border town, and I saw a Border Patro Jeep Wrangler. I sure hope they start using them. It looked great. If I go hunting this weekend, I will be sure to take a picture of it.
