This works on diesels, not sure if it is the same for gas engines. If you have a tach, look at it when cranking the engine over. If the CPS is good the tach should register a few hundred RPM while cranking.

I agree it is a D44 rear and no crush sleeve is used. Even if it were a D35 Josh's procedure has a few 1/2 truths and some incorrect information. You do not need to pull the whole diff out and use a rebuild kit just to r/r a pinion seal and properly set pinion bearing preload.

M20 has bearing retainer plates like a ford 9" does. I would get one piece forged axles from a good reputable axle company (NOT Crown), someone like Summers Bros, Alloy, etc. My summers Bros. kit I had to press the bearing on and the retainer collar too.

Do a Google search for TJ door surounds and windshield channel. There will be lots of pics etc. of them. The TJ needs these pieces to secure the soft top to the windshield frame and to fill in the gap between the door top and soft top.

Stock soft tops hardware mount to the stock roll bar. One of the aftermarket brands (I am not sure who) uses their own mounts which do not mount to the factory roll bar. Maybe that is what he is trying to find out about.
