    Lincoln locker

split axle wont last. they are very weak. Welding it wont be worth it. Just get a one piece axle and install a lunch box locker like powertrac or detroit ez locker. They dont lock until the axle is pushed by the driveshaft. Had one in the front of my tj and drove it on the street all the time...

    Need new Gears

Traction devices are lockers or limited slips. They put power to both wheels instead of the one with the least amount of traction (open diff). For the spline count the more the better. The splines are the teeth on the end of the axle that goes into the carrier (traction device). The more splines...

    Need new Gears

Look at your axle. The drive shaft should be above the centerline of the axle (high pinion) or below the center line of your axle (low pinion). The high pinion gears have a reverse rotation and the low pinion have a standard rotation. They are two different gears sets.

    Lift questions

If you look under your jeep you will see where the stock arms meet the frame. The long arms meet the frame at about the same point the skidplate starts and finishes. Long arms are alot better on and offroad. You will have a smoother ride and more flex. It will get rid of the lifting motion when...

    1st Jeep! Can't gen enough!

Welcome to the dark side. As far as your 2.5.... dont worry. I had a 2.5 that kicked but offroad. No race car on the street but jeeps are not designed to go fast. You will probably do more dangerous things in a jeep then you would do on a bike. Nice jeep.

    Exhaust Q's

PUT STACKS! :purple: Most of the 258 sound good with a dual outlet header and mufflers. The muffler will depend on your opinion on the sound. Most aftermarket mufflers dont have a big difference in horsepower or torque. Dual 2 1/4" exhaust will work great for the balance between power and...

    Lift questions

That was a basic bolt on lift. It used the stock arms which limited the flex alot. If you change out the arms it will flex more. The long arm kits are great, but expensive. You can buy the longarms by them self. I removed the rear sway bar and added disconnects on the front. It was a great daily...

    Rebuild vs Replace

Look into upgrading the 258 while you have it open. The more popular upgrade would be 4.0 head swap. Give you good horsepower increase with minimal work. There are alot of write up on that swap on the net.
