How did you place, and what tires did you end up running?

I ran the 34x10.5 Swamper LTB's. Seems like they may have been a hinderance over wider tires, as wider tires seem to curl over the rock tips and hold on better, keeping you from sliding down.

I placed 5th, well, errr, out of 5 jeeps But they told me it was the effort that counted :wink: Great first experience, and we gave it our best. The park owner and the run officials have already let us know the course was overbuilt for our class, and that it will be more competitive next time with a lot more jeeps finishing the stages.

40 minutes from Rockport and I didnt make it spent all weekend trying to get my ride done so I could take it down there, All winter I kept saying gotta have it done for rockport. Still planning on going to the next crawl!!!

Ya, spit the rear driveshaft out. Broke the splined section of the yoke and busted the transfer case tailcone. I had the spare parts with me so I was able to fix it and make the next stage.

I was hung up pretty bad on my crossmember, and the rear axle was at full droop. I was winching forward and I guess the small amount of splines still engaged in the slipyoke couldn't take the 2.5L's torque once I got a little traction.

SYE should be here any day, then it's a flat belly skid with a seperate transmission mount. Gonna make a transmission mount from two TJ/XJ track bars and hang it from inside each frame rail, using the bushing ends. No bolts hanging through the skid that way :twisted:

Never thought of the yellow hard hat, maybe I'll have to try that and everybody will recognize me on the trails for sure
