    06 tj blower problem

Yeah, that's me. Still haven't replaced the resistor pack :D Glad you got yours fixed. I'll call the stealership tomorrow and see if the resistor pack for the YJ is just as cheap as the one for the TJ (I'm betting not.)

Anyone with a JK soft top leak?

I am so glad I have a YJ. My soft top only leaks in torrential downpours... Sucks for you guys and gals. Hope you manage to get them all fixed :(

You can run 33's on the stock 2.5L and stock gears but you'll never see 5th gear again on the highway. Do yourself a favor and get some engine mods first. Build your own intake with a cone filter to start ($40-$80 or even less if you can fab) then swap in a 4.0L TB to replace the stock TB and...

    Too Bouncy for beginners

Yeah, YJ's are pretty bouncy regardless. Still, I don't think it should be so bouncy it's uncontrollable.

    Fender coverage?

My friend from NY says that the outside sidewall of the tire cannot exceed the fender flare. So basically, to run wider tires, you need to get wider fender flares and they need to come out to the exact width of the tire. He said he doesn't know about CT.

    Too Bouncy for beginners

 Well... I don't know where to start... I'd guess that you should swap in some stock springs first. You might want to replace the shocks with OEM recommended as well. Those two together should bring it back to normal.

4" lift, would like to get another 2 inches

IIRC, I heard that if you do more than 1" of body lift you need to extend some wiring to accommodate.

Is this a possible cheap fix to the oil bypass problem?

Well, yesterday I decided I was going to build a better intake for my YJ. So I did. While I was at the auto parts store I noticed these little breather filters they had, so I picked one up that matched my filter. No results yet but I think I may have found a $10 fix to the oil blow problem...

    tires????

I agree. I have these in 31's. Awesome tire. Not the best on-road or off-road, but good for both. Mine are getting worn down and I'm gonna get the exact same tires next time.

    '95 YJ Heater Blower Controls...

'95 YJ Rio Grande. The blower for the heater works but only in the full-on '3' position. The '1' and '2' positions don't work. I googled this problem but all I got was a bunch of confusing stuff talking about a resistor block and what I gathered is that it would be easier to just replace the...

4" lift, would like to get another 2 inches

I would stay at 4" and go with a set of 35's. She'll look really good on them. If you add another 2" the cheap way you're going to be dealing with a drivetrain and suspension nightmare. In any case, if you are going to do it, make sure to get some long arms like BH said, he knows his ****...

    Info on 95 Warangler

Having oil in the PCV/CCV valve doesn't mean you have bad seals. Almost all Jeeps with the 4.0L and 2.5L have that problem regardless of the quality of the rings and seals. There are four ways to fix it. The first is to pop the valve cover and PCV/CCV off and clean them thoroughly. This will...

    Surface rust on the axle?

Sandpaper will do it. After that, I'd recommend painting the axles with black primer at the least. Paint will help keep the rust away. Make sure to spray on two or three coats.

I thought the 2.5 was supposed to be happy in the low ranges because it's all torque? Plus, if you're always pegging redline won't it destroy your engine?

    Looking to Buy First Wrangler

Damn straight ;) Also, I just noticed this post that I missed before so allow me to retort: YJ's are just as reliable or unreliable as TJ's, period. YJ's may on average have higher mileage because they're older but mileage doesn't really mean anything. It's just a (outdated and crappy) way for...

    Looking to Buy First Wrangler

I say go with the YJ. Dash is easy to work on and the stuff in it doesn't break as much since there are less complex components. Also I prefer the stout blocky look of the YJ dash to the rounded plastic puffball look of the TJ. That's just me though. I had a more modern car with all those...

    Info on 95 Warangler

I have a 95 YJ Rio Grande edition with the four furious squirrels and a manual. I love it, and I wouldn't trade it for a 4.0L. It is slow on the interstate with my 31's (I can hit about 70mph max, and I don't use 5th gear as much) but it's fine everywhere else. I have no issues with the...
