    Shooter on campus today

Another shooting in the victim disarmament zone. Why are we letting our government stop us from defending ourselves?! As my hero Thomas Jefferson said, "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is it's natural manure." The erosion of...

    diamond in the ruff?

As long as you remember what Jeep stands for (Just Empty Every Pocket) it's fine. From my experience, the XJ really didn't change all that much from 88 till the late 90's. One that runs for $700, why not. The 4.0L is a really good engine, but plan on putting in a new rear main seal.

    The elections???

What we really need is two-fold: absolute transparency in spending (where is every dime of every tax dollar going, and who earmarked it for that spending) and we need a balance budget bill that would forbid the federal government from defecit spending except in times of Congressionally declared...

    My baby left me...

The guy who bought my YJ just called and told me that he took it to get new tires. The shop moved it and forgot to set the parking brake (and left it in nutural), well, she rolled under a semi and is now not nearly as pretty as she was before. Maybe I should have kept her.....poor girl...

    My baby left me...

I am making my long term plans to get another one. I am just trying to decide if I want to build a CJ-5 from the ground up with everything I want or save up and buy a TJ Rubicon. I have lots of time to plan.

    My baby left me...

Well, yesterday was a day I knew had to come but have been dreading. My beloved YJ is off to her new home. True, I can now pay off my XJ, but I will miss having a Wrangler. I spent a lot of time yesterday and today looking at the classifieds, and really wishing I could afford one....but...

So what is there to do up here for a slightly disturbed Irishman???

I am not one to drink, myself, but the Pyramid Ale House on 1st and Royal Brougham in downtown Seattle is highly regarded by many of my fellow Coasties here in Seattle. It sits right across 1st Ave. from Safeco Field. Now keep in mind that it is also two blocks from the Coast Guard Base, so...

Does the DOT have any basis for its disapproval?

    Staun beadlock install

On the same idea...why are regular bead-lock wheels not street legal, anyway? Who cares if the tire can't come off the wheel? It seems that it wouuld actually be safer.

    dang door!

It's not the bolts that are loose, its the pin. I am not really sure how they set it up, though.

    dang door!

My 96 XJ has a problem. The lower hinge on the driver's side is really loose so the door dosn't close very easy and sometimes comes open (like it did on the freeway tonight). I will have to get a new trox bit to get the door off (mine is too long) but I was wondering if anyone has had this...

You can get either locker for the 8.8.

axles & lockers & hubs, oh my!

both of those lockers can be installed without special tools or lubricants, so they go on pretty easy.

axles & lockers & hubs, oh my!

EZ lockers run between $200 and $250 per axle, if you put them in yourself. The Lock Right are about the same price, but from what I have heard they are a bit stronger and more reliable.

axles & lockers & hubs, oh my!

On the locker issue, Lockright or the Detroit EZ locker are the most cost effective it you still want to drive it on pavement. I had this same question not too long ago, you may want to look for that thread.
